Dancing

I have been dancing Ceroc (
www.ceroc.co.nz) since 1999. It's a fantastic, fun dance style that is very easy to learn. It is partner dancing, male-led to any music with a regular beat which makes it very versatile. It also has virtually no footwork (at least no complicated footwork), which can be a scary thing for those who think they have two left feet. We pretty much all start with two left feet and turn out to be quite coordinated - it doesn't take long.

Ceroc has branches all over New Zealand and the world. Google "Ceroc" and a country name and see what comes up! It is also referred to as "Modern Jive" in some parts of the world.

I finally decided to compete for the first time in the East & South Champs competition on 4 September 2010. 14 couples approached the dance floor with enthusiasm and sex appeal and we rocked! We came 2nd in the team competition, which was like coming 1st for us, because the 1st place team were our choreographers' other team, made up of solely advanced dancers. Our team was a combination of new Intermediate-Advanced dancers.
