One size doesn't fit all - below are some options for getting results in a different way

Group couple workshops

My plan is to offer group workshops for couples who wish to improve their relationship from early 2012. At this stage, it would be good to get feedback on whether evening workshops of two hours or weekend workshops of four hours would be preferred.

Initial costs would be around $40 per couple, with a maximum of eight couples per workshop.

Topics that could be covered include:
  1. What are the five most important elements for a long term relationship?
  2. Exploring respect and trust
  3. Models for conflict resolution
  4. The importance of non sexual touch
  5. Intimacy - what is it?
  6. Do we need to date each other?
  7. Love languages
  8. Four behaviours that create a 'deathknell' for relationships
  9. Don't the kids need to come first?
  10. How come I'm acting like my mother or father? How did that happen?

Double or triple appointment times

If you are particularly motivated to get issues resolved, one 50 minute session at a time may not feel like enough. I offer the option of doubling or tripling appointments times:
  • 1 hour and 50 minutes (with a short break)
  • 2 hours and 50 minutes (with two short breaks)

Pre commitment packages

You've met someone special and you want to make sure that you're prepared to move in, get married or commit in another way. By prepared, you want to know that you've got a 'toolbox' of skills to communicate, resolve conflict, negotiate and have all the conversations that you need to have so that you don't get nasty surprises. If you wish to commit to the process of being 'prepared', consider how six sessions with me could help you understand each other so much better. If you prepay the sessions up front, you will save $50 (the cost of six sessions is usually $540, prepaid cost is $490).

Topics that are often not discussed before commitment and can come back and cause conflict later on are:
  1. What are your ideas about monogamy? What constitutes infidelity?
  2. How do we want to handle money?
  3. How do we find a balance of couple time, family time, friend time?
  4. Do we know what each other likes in our physical relationship? What are our expectations?
  5. How do we resolve conflict?
  6. How do we truly understand each other? We both speak the same language but sometimes I have no idea what my partner means?

Post commitment packages

Just because you've got married, had a commitment ceremony or moved in together, it doesn't mean life will now be completely rosy. If these decisions were made in the first 'flush' of falling in love, you may not yet have got to know each other deeply. Questions such as the ones in the 'pre commitment packages' section may come up and surprise you. Committing to six sessions to resolve current issues and prepare for future challenges may be one of the best commitments you will make.

As above, you will save over $50 if you pay up front, (six sessions is usually $540, prepaid cost is $490).

Discount for pre-paying

Paying up front will save you cost. Options include:
  1. Prepay 3 sessions and save $20
  2. Have a double session and save $10
  3. Prepay 6 sessions and save $50

Prices quoted above are for 1-2 people at $90 per session. For groups of 3 or more, the cost is $100 per session.
