Kia ora and thank you for visiting
Seeking counselling is a courageous step - welcome.
This website is about Suzi Wallis, the counselling process and the (usually) face-to-face counselling that Suzi offers in Ellerslie North, Auckland, Aotearoa.
See below for more information about Suzi, what she can help with, useful questions to ask yourself, when the right time is to get help, and an invitation to explore this site to ensure you have enough information to make an informed choice about getting the help you need.
I am unable to take new clients at present. Please check my schedule page for any held appointments, as they may be available upon enquiry. If you’d like to go on the cancellation/wait list, please email me on firstname.lastname@example.org. Physically distanced, in-person appointments are available during lockdown level 2. If clients have any cold symptoms, we can convert to a video or phone session.
My name is Suzi Wallis. I see my purpose as helping you navigate the challenges you face, so that you can experience more success and happiness.
Robust emotional health is key to having a fulfilling life, and managing the hurdles that you face. Even if you feel like life can't possibly improve, I want to assure you that what you're going through is temporary, and that you can find a way through.
My specialty areas are:
working with couples (of any gender or gender combination) to work through relationship & life issues
grief & loss support for all.
I can also help with many other issues you may be facing.
I work with clients aged 14 upwards.
The counselling I offer is about making change, and making change stick. Clients regularly leave sessions with several things to work on between appointments.
I have been working with clients since 2002, and offer a variety of modalities to assist you with getting the change you want.
Services I offer include:
Some questions for you
Is your relationship in trouble?
Is conflict a problem for you in any area of your life?
Are you experiencing grief or have you just experienced a shock?
Are you ready to grow?
Do you want to shed your emotional baggage?
Are you ready to take responsibility for your own behaviour?
Do you want to increase your resilience?
Do you understand that you have the greatest influence on how your life turns out?
Do you want to learn the patterns and habits that get you into challenging situations (and healthy alternatives)?
Are you having trouble communicating with others, or being understood?
Are you feeling overwhelmed right now?
Are you feeling unheard in any area of your life?
Do you feel silenced or powerless by a situation you are in?
If you have answered "yes" to any of the above questions, welcome - you are in the right place. I can work with you to ensure that your current challenges become manageable, and that you find more happiness and resilience in your daily life.
When is the right time to get help?
If you are in distress, something big has just happened, if you are feeling overwhelmed, or there is a crisis going on - these are absolutely important times to get help.
Counselling isn't just useful for the big stuff - it's also the everyday stresses that can reduce our resilience and general happiness – eg: being bullied at work, having difficult work or personal relationships, struggling to make an important decision, step parenting, negotiating the new rules of living together, fear of anger or conflict – assistance with these types of issues (which can be achieved in 3-6 sessions) can clear the way for more happiness and strength in all areas of your life.
Please consider getting in touch if you want to explore any area of your life that is currently not working the way you’d like.
